FIFA & Adidas have launched the official competition ball of the World Cup 2026. The design is a tribute to the three host countries.
The ball is called ‘Trionda’, which means three (tri) waves (Onda), and a mashup of red, blue and green is to represent Canada, the United States and Mexico.

The panels of the ball contain iconography from the guest countries. The American part of the ball shows a star, a maple leaf for Canada and an eagle for Mexico.
“Used using a brand new ball construction of four panels for high performance, the liquid design geometry replicates the waves that are displayed in the official name of the ball,” said Adidas, who makes the ball.
The Match Ball will also wear some of the latest technology, using adidas connected ball technology, according to the company.
“The provision of unprecedented insight into any element of the ball movement, sends the technology precise ball data to the video assistant assistant (VAR) system in real time -which in combination with data from player’s position and by applying artificial intelligence in making civil servants who take faster offside decisions,” according to Adidas.
