PGA apologizes to the wife of Rory Mcilroy na Ryder Cup Heckling

The PGA had an apology to Erica Stoll after she and her husband, Rory McIlroy, on September 26 on September 26 at the Ryder Cup of both Emcee Heather McMahan and other attendees at the Ryder Cup.

“Let me start with what we should possess. Although the competition was transparent – especially with the rally of the American team on Sunday afternoon – a fang behavior clearly exceeded the border,” Rea wrote. “It was disrespectful, inappropriate and not representative of who we are as the PGA of America or as PGA of American golf professionals. We unambiguously condemn that behavior.”

In an interview with Athletics On Wednesday, October 1, PGA from America CEO Derek Sprague said that he had a long phone call with McIlroy’s manager, Sean O’flaerty. Sprague, who has been leading the organization since January, condemned the behavior of McMahan and the fans.

“I sent a long e -mail to share with Rory and Erica and told him that we will do better in the future,” Sprague said Athletics. “I am the CEO now. I have not approved this kind of behavior. This is not good for the golf game. It’s not good for the Ryder Cup. It’s not good for one of the professional athletes, and we’ll do better.”

“I am disappointed in the behavior of fans, disappointed in the first tee and the Emcee that it is just not who we are,” Sprague continued. “And I was just real, real, really disappointed.”

In his letter, Rea also noted that Sprague apologized to McIlroy, Erica and ‘everyone with Ryder Cup Europe’.

The next Ryder Cup will be held in Ireland in 2027. Sprague told Athletics He is planning to meet his European counterparts to ‘ensure that we concentrate on what the Ryder Cup is about’, which is ‘decorum and sportiness and integrity’.
